What HIL Collects
When you use HIL, we store what you give us: your name and email from sign-in, items you add to inventory, photos you upload, receipt emails you forward, and your household settings. We don't collect anything you don't explicitly send us.
What We Do With It
Power your inventory, history, and exchange listings.
Run the email ingestion pipeline to capture receipts faster.
Run AI features (PATCH) using your own data to answer your own questions.
Send platform notifications you've opted into.
What We Don't Do
We do not sell your data. Not to advertisers, data brokers, or anyone.
We do not use your inventory data to train AI models.
We do not show ads based on what you own or what you've bought.
We do not share your data with third parties except infrastructure providers (Google Firebase, Cloudflare) bound by their own privacy policies.
Staff Access — The Honest Version
We built HIL so we don't have to look at your stuff. And honestly — we prefer it that way.
Your inventory is partitioned to your account. Casual browsing by HIL staff isn't possible through normal tools — it requires a deliberate, non-trivial technical action. If we ever access your account for support, we log it. If we ever do it without your knowledge, we'll tell you after the fact.

Government Requests
If we receive a legal demand for your data, we'll notify you unless a court order prevents it. We'll push back on overbroad requests and keep a record of any government access.
